Abstract: This study explores the role of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in promoting financial inclusion and women's empowerment in the rural blocks of Irongmara and Borjelanga, India. Employing a descriptive research design, it examines the diversity of financial products offered, savings dynamics, and empowerment mechanisms within SHGs. Data from 152 SHG members were analyzed, revealing that SHGs provide crucial financial services, such as loans and insurance, tailored to members’ needs. Members in Irongmara showed higher average savings per group compared to Borjelanga, indicating effective savings mobilization. Additionally, SHGs facilitated significant behavioral shifts towards regular saving and financial discipline. Women's participation in SHGs resulted in increased financial literacy, confidence, and entrepreneurial activities, driving socio-economic development. Training in various income-generating activities further enhanced their economic roles. The findings underscore SHGs' effectiveness in fostering financial autonomy, skill development, and sustainable economic growth, thereby empowering women in these regions.
