Moonlighting as a new trend of employment: A systematic literature review

Abstract: Digitalization has transformed the employment era and given birth to Industrial Revolution 4.0, moonlighting cause remote working and due to that employees start grabbing multiple opportunities present in the market despite having one full-time job, the researcher wants to understand why employees are choosing to be part of moonlighting and to understand that research has followed inclusion and exclusion method for the study, this paper includes 14 paper after omitting papers from unknown journals, non-English papers, papers were taken from the period of 8 years from 2015 to 2023, this paper is based on secondary data, finding of the research indicates that moonlighting has both positive and negative impact on employment, employees are being part of moonlighting to get financial security and to fulfil. Their need, on the other hand, it is impacting the economy breaking the equilibrium.
