Evaluating the relationship between compensation package and job satisfaction among healthcare employees

Author(s): Dr. Ajay Kumar Dogra

Abstract: Healthcare is a vital sector that ensures the safety and survival of individuals. It requires adequate staffing and quality services to prevent diseases and reduce burnout among healthcare professionals. This paper explores the relationship between compensation packages and job satisfaction among healthcare professionals in public and private hospitals. It presents a case study of Indian healthcare and proposes recommendations to ensure the retention and hiring of healthcare professionals. The study was conducted among 289 healthcare professionals from public and private hospitals of Chandigarh Tricity in India. The study's findings can serve as a reference for developing successful compensation packages worldwide. Healthcare institutions and management can improve their understanding of these variables by conducting training programs, disseminating relevant articles, and improving salary levels, promotion policies, equity of wages, wage raise policies, pay-for-performance plans, and non-monetary aspects of compensation packages.
