Author(s): Ali Ihsan Abdulkareem and Ahmed Hameed Issa

Abstract: The research aimed to identify the obstacles hindering the operation of small and medium-sized enterprises in Iraq, particularly as these projects play a significant role in building the Iraqi economy. The study adopted the descriptive-analytical approach to describe and diagnose the obstacles affecting small and medium-sized enterprises. The research community comprised private pharmaceutical and medical supplies companies in Salah ad-Din Governorate. A sample of 40 individuals was selected from the research population to represent it accurately. The results of the above tests confirm achieving the study's objective and thus validate the main hypothesis of the research, which indicates the identification of obstacles facing small and medium-sized enterprises. Based on this, the research recommended that governments, legislative, and executive bodies support these projects for their vital role in revitalising the national economy.
