The impact of cryptocurrencies on the global financial market

Abstract: This dissertation investigates the influence of cryptocurrencies on traditional financial markets, particularly examining aspects of volatility, market capitalization, and investor behavior. The core research question addresses the extent and nature of this impact, utilizing a rigorous analysis of quantitative data encompassing cryptocurrency valuation, trading volumes, and their correlations with major financial indices, supplemented by qualitative insights gathered from market participants. The findings reveal a significant correlation between the fluctuations of cryptocurrencies and traditional market behaviors, with evidence indicating that heightened cryptocurrency volatility can lead to increased uncertainty in conventional markets. Notably, the research uncovers that investor behavior has shifted, as market participants often react to cryptocurrency trends, thereby integrating these digital assets into their overall investment strategies. These findings underscore the importance of understanding the interplay between cryptocurrencies and traditional finance, suggesting that as cryptocurrencies gain prominence, their potential to disrupt established financial mechanisms could reshape market dynamics.
