Work-life balance and well-being of women bank employees: A comparative study of public and private sector banks

Author(s): Remya R Nambiar

Abstract: This investigation examines the work-life balance (WLB) and welfare of female staff in government and commercial banking institutions, intending to analyze sector-specific obstacles, assess the influence of WLB on welfare, and suggest practical suggestions. A numerical study method was employed, involving a questionnaire of 200 female personnel (100 from each group) to collect information on background attributes, WLB, and welfare ratings. Summarized and deductive statistical evaluations, including t-assessments, associations, and forecasting, were performed to pinpoint noteworthy contrasts and associations. Findings indicated that government sector workers noted superior WLB and welfare ratings owing to organized guidelines, while commercial sector workers, despite adaptability, faced elevated tension levels and reduced total ratings. The analysis inferred that a blended strategy merging the advantages of both sectors might boost welfare and efficiency. Subsequent inquiries might examine long-term effects of WLB measures, societal impacts on WLB, and the function of digital tools in establishing accepting and helpful occupational settings.
