Author(s): Subhash Chandra and Dr. Kumar Vimal Lakhatakiya

Abstract: Mutual fund transparency is a cornerstone of fostering trust and strengthening investor relations in the dynamic financial markets. This study explores the critical role of transparency in mutual funds, emphasizing how clear and timely disclosures of portfolio holdings, fee structures, performance metrics, and managerial accountability influence investor confidence and decision-making. Transparency not only bridges the information gap between fund managers and investors but also ensures regulatory compliance and ethical practices, ultimately fostering loyalty and attracting new investors. The paper delves into the multifaceted benefits of transparency, such as improved investor confidence, enhanced communication, and reduced misinformation, while addressing the challenges like complexity of disclosures, competitive pressures, and regulatory burdens. Through case studies and industry insights, the analysis highlights the best practices and strategies for building trust through transparency, including leveraging technology, strengthening reporting mechanisms, and promoting financial literacy. This study underscores that mutual fund transparency is not merely a regulatory obligation but a strategic imperative for sustainable growth and investor satisfaction in the mutual fund industry.
