The impact of artificial intelligence on health and health care systems

Author(s): Naghma Sultana and Sandhya Balaji

Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the health and healthcare sectors by enabling more accurate diagnoses, personalized treatments, and efficient administrative processes. Through the use of machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, and computer vision, AI systems can analyze vast amounts of medical data, assist in clinical decision-making, and predict patient outcomes. Applications range from diagnostic imaging and drug discovery to virtual health assistants and predictive analytic for population health. Despite its trans-formative potential, the integration of AI in healthcare also raises challenges related to data privacy, ethical considerations, algorithmic bias, and the need for regulatory frameworks. This paper explores the current landscape of AI in healthcare, its benefits and limitations, and the future prospects of AI-driven innovation in improving patient care and health system performance.
