A case study of farmers from agriculture to Agripreneur of Namsai District, Arunachal Pradesh

Abstract: Agriculture in India is a very old age practice that the Indian economy is totally dependent on. About 54.60% of Indian population in the country is dependent on agriculture practice for their livelihood and other purposes. The various agriculture areas in India can be broadly categorized such as wheat, rice, millets, oilseeds, fruits and vegetables. The farmers in India in general and Arunachal Pradesh in particular are facing many types of problems and challenges in various areas such as financing, marketing, Labour, technology, education & training etc. The farmers are producing large quantities of agriculture products in every season yearly but they are not able to get the required rate of return for their produce. So, the Promotion of entrepreneurial skills among the farmers of community, state and country are the need of hour that shall surely help them to increase the sale and earning as well as the margin of profits as a result enhancing in their living standard and others. Agripreneur a new concept which is gaining importance as an entrepreneur extension whose base of business is agriculture related activities for connecting farmers to the market and ultimately the consumers. Agripreneurs is an entrepreneurial process in agriculture for getting better output and better profitability. This research aims to study the prospects areas and issues of agripreneurs in Arunachal Pradesh with reference to community of Namsai district and also to identify the budding agripreneurs in the study area.
