Knowledge management system and organizational learning in information technology organizations

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to examine the effects of knowledge management system on the characteristics of learning in Information Technology (IT) Organizations. A sample of 65 HR managers and Software Engineers who were working in different IT organizations was taken. Chi-square test revealed that demographic characteristics of HR managers and Software Engineers and its effects on knowledge management system are found to be independent. The results of factor analysis demonstrated that some factors like innovation, different market entry, decision making through delegation, market share are significant in explaining variation on knowledge management system and factors like better information, application of knowledge, knowledge management process, and shared vision are significant in explaining the properties of organizational learning.
